Asked to do work for a real estate company and got nothing

I got contacted by someone who said they owned a real estate company. They were looking for a virtual assistant to help with their business. Sounded legit enough so I went ahead and paid for the service they were offering.

That was $5500. After I sent the money, I never heard from them again. Not a single reply to my emails or calls. The phone number they gave me was (479) 439-2931 and the email was [email protected].

I have no idea what happened. I just want my money back or at least some kind of answer.
