Hired painter on Thumbtack who never showed up
Now I can't even contact them because they're no longer active on the Thumbtack app. I lost $692 on this.
Their most recent reviews on the app show similar results from other people. If those reviews had been posted before I hired them, I never would have done it.
Driveway sealing washed away and no one will answer
That night it rained and the next morning all the sealant was gone. Just washed right off. I called the 800 number on the card which is (800) 971-9697 and he actually answered and said he would come back on 08/07/26 to fix it.
Well 08/07/26 came and he never showed up. I called dozens of times and no answer. There's no address or any other way to get ahold of him. The check for $3500 already went through my account at the credit union. When I called them they said they can't give out his personal info because of privacy laws and that I would need a subpoena. So now I'm out the money and my driveway looks worse than before.
