Letter about Toyota warranty that was not from Toyota

I got a letter telling me to call a number about my Toyota extended warranty. It said I needed to activate it. I called 1(888) 927-1829 and they made it sound like it was through Toyota, so I thought it was legit. They got me for $271. The address on it was Fredericksburg, VA and the email was [email protected]. It was not Toyota at all. Just want to put this out there so nobody else falls for it.
