Facebook ad for a purchase that turned out to be a scam

I saw their ad on Facebook and figured it was okay since it was on there. Spent $59.97. That was a mistake. Why is Facebook letting companies like this advertise to people when they know they aren't legit? They should be held responsible for allowing this stuff on their platform. I tried to contact them but nothing. The phone number they had was 1(415) 204-3300 and the email was [email protected]. Just feel like I got taken for a ride and Facebook doesn't care.
