Call saying PayPal charged me for crypto I didn't buy
When I called back, a man with an Indian accent answered. He told me I needed to log into my bank and PayPal on my laptop, not on my phone. That seemed odd but I did it. Then he tried to get me to download some remote access app so he could take over my screen. I deleted it right away.
I didn't give them any passwords or confirm anything. I called my bank, messaged PayPal directly, and changed my passwords. No money was taken from my bank or PayPal account. Nothing was lost but it was scary how real it seemed. The email they used was [email protected]. Just wanted to put this out there so nobody else falls for it.
