They promised funding then said we tried

I got in touch with this company about getting a loan for my business. They were so sure they could get me the funding, like they guaranteed it basically. I planned everything around that money, my whole future projections for the business depended on it.

Now the business is about to close because I waited on them and they just couldn't deliver. When I called them out on it, all they said was "well we tried." That's it. No apology, no explanation, nothing.

They're located in NY, USA. I didn't lose any money to them upfront, but I lost my business because of their over promising. It just doesn't feel right.
