Called Verizon number from Google but got some guy named Harry

I called the number that Google said was Verizon, but it must have been a sponsored number because it was not Verizon customer service. Harry answered the phone and told me this was Verizon. He gave me a personal number, 856-314-5548.

He told me I could pay my Oct. bill now and if I did he could give me a discount. It was 15 days early. He also said I could pay November's bill now for a deeper discount. I gave my credit card number for the Oct. bill but my bank rejected it. He asked me to OK it but by then I was suspicious.

I called my credit card company. They found two fraudulent charges that were paid on my credit card. They suggested I get a new card, which I did.
