Got a threatening letter about building fines from VertPro

My company got this letter from something called the "VertPro Office of Energy Compliance." It says we could face penalties up to $7,500,000 per building if we're not compliant by April 2026. It tells us to register at BPS.VertPro.com or call 206-202-3822 to make sure our portfolio is compliant.

I didn't go through with the registration. I'm sure it would have asked for a fee. The whole thing just felt like a threat to get us to pay money. The letter came from an address in Irvine, California, and the contact email was [email protected]. It just didn't seem right.
