Letters about home warranty for someone who never had one

My father in law is 95 years old and he keeps getting letters from this company saying he's going to lose his home warranty coverage if he doesn't respond. The letters have his address on them. The name on the letter is Vicky Mercer, Program Director, and it says to call 888-538-0818.

The thing is he has never had home insurance from anywhere. Not from these people, not from anyone. So none of this makes any sense.

These letters keep coming and he's 95 so he gets worried about this stuff. It's a total scam.

Mail about house insurance with no return address

Got a letter in the mail saying my house insurance had expired and I need to contact them immediately before it lapses. The envelope was plain white with no return address on it. That already felt strange to me.

Inside it referenced some customer number and a person named Vicky Mercer, Program Director. The only contact was a phone number, 1-888-538-0818. I didn't call because something about it didn't sit right. I don't even know who these people are or what company they're with.

Just wanted to put this out there in case anyone else gets the same letter. It seems like a phishing thing to me.
