Message on WhatsApp demanding money or they release my info

I got a message on WhatsApp from this number (202) 520-9994. They said they had my personal information and would release it if I didn't pay them $500. I don't know who these people are or how they got my number.

They put Washington DC as their location but I don't know if that's even real. It was all through WhatsApp. I didn't send any money but they keep threatening me.

Scammer told my dad he would drop off money at his house

Some guy on whatsapp told my dad he was going to come to his house and drop off money if my dad sent him money first. So my dad waited outside for him to pull up. Nobody ever showed up.

The guy just kept asking for more money the whole time. My dad sent him money through Chime. It was $100 total.

The email this guy used was [email protected]. He never came to the house and just kept wanting more.

Someone on WhatsApp pretended to be a friend of mine

I got a message on WhatsApp from someone pretending to be a person I knew and trusted. They used a phone number (704) 212-5512 and said they were in Charlotte, NC. I really thought I was talking to my friend, so I sent $480.

I never would have sent that money if I had known who was really on the other end. It wasn't the person I thought it was. I didn't authorize a payment to some stranger, and now the money is just gone.

Scammers copied my friend’s account and I lost 61k

I got a message on WhatsApp from what I thought was my friend. The account looked exactly like theirs, same picture and everything. So I trusted it.

They asked me to wire transfer some money, and I sent 61k to an account I thought was mine. But it wasn’t. Later when I asked about the funds they just gave me the run around.

I don’t know how they mirrored my friend’s account like that. I just feel sick about it.
