Job offer turned out to be a fake check scam
They sent me a check for $4,550 overnight through FedEx. It came from Greenpoint Technologies in Bothel. I was told to buy supplies for the job. A woman named Susan Ortiz who said she was HR kept pushing me to deposit the check and send money to their vendor. She was really pushy about it.
My bank put a hold on the check so I couldn't do what they wanted. Then they asked me to use my own money to get the supplies so I could start. They kept talking about needing a time tracker for proof of work. I never got the hire packet they promised. When the day came that the money should have been available, the check was reversed. They told me the payment was blocked for suspicious activity.
I just pray no one else gets caught in this scam.
