Man on the phone took my husband’s social security number

I called a Verizon number I found online and a man answered. He said he would call me back on a different number, which was 201 252 7267. I very stupidly gave him my husband’s birthdate and social security number. He kept saying he was investigating my husband’s old phone number to transfer it, and it took hours.

Then a different man answered at the same number 201 252 7267. He said we hadn’t paid the account, which is a lie, and tried to get our credit card information. I am so very very concerned that I was that stupid to give my husband’s info. We are seniors with confusion and health issues. Please help. Thank you so very much.
