Garage door repair guy took my opener and left it broken
I called the service number. The technician texted me back and said he'd return. He came back a few hours later and said the opener needed to be replaced. He told me to go to Menards, used my phone to take a screenshot of the opener to buy, and said to call another company to install it for $85. Then he took the springs he just put in and left. He also has my garage door opener in his truck—he took a picture of it with my phone.
I haven't been able to get a supervisor's name or a call back since. The number on my receipt, 1800-658-0115, is how I found out this is a known scam. I paid $938 for this.
