Got a weird voicemail about my taxes and account verification.

I got this voicemail on Monday the 15th. It was from someone named Arden Whitlock. He said he was calling from the account verification services division with the taxpayer resolution support center.

He said my account came up in a routine review and that some filing or balance items might need confirmation. He said they have a direct verification line with no wait so I could get clear confirmation. He told me to call back at 888-549-1425.

The whole thing felt off. I never signed up for anything from them. The message just said if I got it in error, to call back and press three to be removed. I don't know why they have my number.
