Got a strange call from someone claiming to be with Amazon

I got a phone call from a number I didn't know. The person said he was John Fisher with Amazon Customer service. He told me someone opened another Amazon account in my name on February 14th 2026 and tried to buy an IPhone 17 Pro for $1,099.

I asked him, if they opened the account on the 14th, why am I just hearing about it on the 26th? He said well they opened the account then but just tried to make the purchase now. He asked if my shipping address was 49 Arcadia Court Albany, NY 12205. I said no.

Then he said he needed to transfer me to a federal agent with the Federal Trade Commission. When he went to transfer the call, it just ended. The whole thing felt off.
