Letter about mortgage relief with no real company info

I got a letter in the mail about government relief assistance for people trying to avoid foreclosure or get their mortgage reduced. I been having a hard time paying my mortgage cause my husband is sick.

The letter said to call (929) 396-0655 or email [email protected]. They had an address at 105 Maxess Road in Melville, NY. I called them and they told me I qualified for a government grant. They said I just needed to pay some fees first to process it.

I ended up sending them $2080. They kept asking for more money after that but I stopped. Now they dont answer my calls. The website is americanrs.org but it doesnt really seem legit. I never got any help with my mortgage.
