Email about a book club Q&A that never happened

I got an email from someone saying my book had been picked for their book club. They asked if I wanted to do a Q&A with them. At first they didn't ask for any money.

After a few emails back and forth they said an author's contribution helps cover the cost of promoting the book to their members. Seemed kind of reasonable I guess. I checked them out online and they looked legit. So I agreed and they set a date and time for the Q&A.

I was supposed to get a link to join the meeting. I never got any link. Never heard back from them at all. Lost $175.
