Someone I met on LinkedIn asked me for job application money

I met this person on LinkedIn. Her name was Angela, she said she was from China but had been in the US for ten years. We were talking and then she started requesting money from me for job application fees. It felt off right away, asking for money like that. I didn't send anything, but the whole thing just didn't make sense for a job application.
