Job offer on Nextdoor wanted me to deposit a fake e-check

I saw a job posting on the Nextdoor app and it looked legit so I reached out. They gave me a number to text and then set up a zoom interview but it was just through chat. We talked about the job and pay and hours and everything seemed fine.

Then they wanted me to take an e-check and print it out and deposit it into my bank account. Also wanted me to order all the equipment through my own phone carrier. That just screamed scam to me. This is the second time these people have tried the e-check thing and it always turns out fake. Their email was [email protected] and the phone number was 1(229) 556-2073.
