Charged me $280 for a diagnostic after agreeing to $80

I agreed to pay $80 plus tax for a diagnostic on my washer. The technician showed up with an assistant. I told him the problem was smoke and a burning smell when washing clothes.

He opened the top of the machine and spent some time looking around. Then he told me I had to pay $280 plus tax for the diagnostic and service. I reminded him our agreement was only $80 plus tax just for the diagnostic. He insisted the $280 was for the diagnostic.

I ended up paying the $80 plus tax for nothing. No diagnostic was performed like we originally agreed on.
