Phone call saying they were from AT&T offering a discount for bad service

Got a call from a number I didn’t recognize, (910) 218-0130, some guy saying he was from AT&T. He said because of all the poor connectivity problems in my area lately, they wanted to give me a 35% discount on my bill for the next year to make up for it. Sounded nice at first.

Then he asked for my AT&T log-in info to process the discount. That’s when I knew something was off. I didn’t give him anything. I just hung up. No company name on the caller ID or anything, just a Wilmington, NC number. Felt like a phishing thing to me.

Phone call saying I owe AT&T money from years ago

Got a call from (218) 882-0968. Said they were from AT&T and I owed money on an old bill. I don't even remember having an account with them that long ago. The guy was pushy and kept saying I had to pay right then or they would take further action.

I asked for proof or a letter or something and he just kept repeating the amount. He said they were a debt collector working for AT&T. The number came up from Carlton, MN. I didn't give them any money but it was weird how aggressive he was about it. No company name was given other than AT&T.
