Got a fake email about an Avast subscription renewal

I got an email saying I had an auto renewal for Avast Protection. So I called the customer service number in the email, which was (970) 303-2166. The guy told me I paid through a PayPal account, but I don't even have PayPal.

I asked for his name and he hesitated before saying Mike. I asked where he was calling from. He said why did I need to know. I told him if you're asking for my address and I'm doing business with you, I need your address too. He finally gave an address: 9810 S Lake Union, Seattle, Washington. When I said Seattle isn't even a state, he just hung up on me.

I looked up the real Avast customer service number. They told me it was a scam and they have no subscription in my name at all.
