Got a scary automated call about legal action, then the number they gave doesn't work

I got a call from a person using an AI-generated voice that kept changing during the message. It said legal action was being taken and this was their final attempt to contact me. They told me to call 833-987-0997, but when I tried, it never even rang.

The call came from 617-221-5191, which is based in Quincy, Mass. and uses Bandwidth Communications as the provider. I called that 617 number back. They answered a few times, saying things like "Legal Services" or once even "Complaint Department." But every time I asked who they actually were, they just hung up on me. They tried to search for my number, too. I called three times, and all three times they hung up when I questioned them. It felt really off.
