Got a suspicious call about a housing opening that wasn't real

I got a call on February 9th from a guy named Kyle. He said he had a place coming up March 1 through BC Housing. When I called the number he left, it was a wrong number. So I called BC Housing myself. They told me they don't have a Kyle working there and there were no notes on my file about this.

I don't know how this person knew to call me. I have a feeling because I'm disabled and over 55, he thought I might act fast to put down a deposit for a March 1st move-in. He hasn't contacted me again. But it really makes me wonder how he knew I was looking for housing.
