Got a fake job offer from someone pretending to be Blue Cross
I applied for what I thought was a remote job with BCBS. After I filled out the application, I did an online interview and they told me I got the job. They sent me information about all the equipment I would need and was supposed to get.
Then they said they'd email me a check to buy a "toggle time table" to keep track of my hours and how I'd get paid. The check came by email and they wanted me to deposit it remotely. That just sounded off to me, so I called my bank. They told me not to do it. I've tried to call the real Blue Cross to report this, too.
