Rental ad on Messenger took my application fee and disappeared

I was trying to find a place to live. Saw a house for rent on Messenger, they gave me the address and a picture of the house at 149 Bell Ave, Versailles, Kentucky 40383. So I went and sent the application fee through Chime. The person sent me their Chime information which said "$Becky-Anderson-8".

When I called Chime about this fraud they said they can't help me get my money back. I think that is so unfair. I'm a 68 years old disabled woman just trying to live. I lost $50.

Is there anything that can be done to try to get my money back? Any directions I need to see if I can retrieve any of it? Any help would be very helpful.
