Contacted for a fake job offer from someone pretending to be from BetterHelp

I got contacted by someone named Lucretia DuBose about a job with BetterHelp. She sent me an MS Teams link for an interview that came from the betterhelp.com website. I answered the questions and they offered me the position right away.

Then she sent over an offer letter on what looked like company letterhead. After that, she sent a check for 3,500 dollars. She gave me all the details and steps to deposit it electronically. She said the money was for buying workplace equipment.

The whole thing just felt off. The email she used was [email protected], which doesn't look right for a real company. I'm pretty sure this was a fake job scam.
