Got a scary text saying I owe money for a loan I never took out.

I got this message from someone named Brian Baker who says he's in the legal department, telling me to contact him ASAP. A relative I haven't talked to in years got the exact same message, and so did another family member. They all had the same name but different phone numbers: 601-419-2515 and 228-295-0448.

When I called, they said I took out a payday loan from EZ Corp EZ Money for $1000 back on December 7th, 2012, and now I owe $2878.99. They tried to get me to pay them right then and threatened to garnish my wages. I told them they have no legal right to do that. The guy said fine, since I'm refusing to pay, I need to get a lawyer because they're sending me legal paperwork for a court date.

I have never had a payday loan in my life. I tried to look up EZ Corp EZ Money and couldn't find any contact info for them at all. The scary part is this Brian person had my personal info—my birth date, my email, and the last four of my Social Security number.
