Got an unwanted package with no company name on it

I got a package I didn’t order. It just showed up at my door. No receipt or anything inside saying who sent it. Just a random item.

I looked it up on Google and found a warning from a New Jersey police department saying it’s a brushing scam. Apparently this person is sending these packages all over from different addresses. I read that some people say there’s a QR code inside but I didn’t see one. Police say not to scan it and to monitor your accounts.

I’m supposed to throw the item away and report it here. So that’s what I’m doing.
