Fake job email from someone pretending to be from the school career center
I started and did work for the week. He said I was helping students log in to set up their school refunds. I was supposed to get paid $450 every Friday. When Friday came, he told me he’d send a soft copy of a check to deposit. I was supposed to send part of it to an orphanage and keep the rest as my payment.
He sent the check by email and it looked really fake. I was already suspicious because he sent a check by email. That doesn’t seem right. I’ve only ever had a check mailed to me or used direct deposit for a job. Getting a check emailed was very unusual to me.
