Got a call about a new credit account I never opened

Got a call from 858-433-5307 saying a new account was opened in my name with three big transactions. While I was on the phone with them I went online to look at my credit account and didn't see any new accounts. The lady put me on with her supervisor. That was a man calling from 858-380-5917. Both of them had accents that didn't sound like they were born or raised in the USA.

I asked the man his name and he said "John A Davis". I asked where he was from and he said Connecticut. Then I asked him where his original country was and he said the USA. That didn't make sense to me. So I hung up and called Capital One directly and reported it.
