Email about a blocked Zelle payment to someone I don't know

I got an email from my bank, Capital One, saying they blocked a Zelle transaction I was trying to send. The thing is, I never tried to send any money. The email mentioned the name ABULFAZL ALI and I have no idea who that is.

It just didn't make any sense. I didn't lose any money since it was blocked, but it's still weird that my bank is sending me alerts about payments I never authorized. I just wanted to report this so it's on record in case anything else happens with my account.

Phishing email about American Legion event cost me fifty dollars

Someone hacked into the email chain for an American Legion business event I was trying to sign up for. The Legion was charging $50 for two days, but this person tried to get me to pay $50 per day instead. The email looked totally real like it came from the contact person at the American Legion.

They used two emails – [email protected] and [email protected]. I sent the money through Zelle. I went back on Zelle to see if I could get my money back and of course this person does not have an account there anymore. Period.

Lost $50.
