Job offer for remote medical assistant felt off

Someone named William emailed me about a remote Medical Assistant job. He said I was hired. He gave me some company questions to fill out, which I did.

Then he said they would send me a check to cover office supplies and software before training started. That part felt strange. I never even interviewed or spoke to anyone on the phone.

The email came from [email protected] and the address he gave was 211 Glen Ridge Ave, Los Gatos, CA. I didn't give them any bank info or send money, but the whole thing didn't make sense.
