Job offer on LinkedIn turned into fake check scam

I got contacted on LinkedIn by someone from CargoNXT. They acted like a real company, did interviews, sent me a job acceptance letter and onboarding stuff. Everything looked legit.

Then they said I needed to buy equipment for the job. They mailed me a check for the equipment. I deposited it, bought the stuff, and then the check bounced. I lost $16,893.

Their website is CargoNXT.com, the guy's email was [email protected], and the phone number they used was (817) 369-5005. I feel stupid but it all seemed real at the time.
