Job offer from a company I never applied for turned out fake

I got a job offer from this company and I don't even remember applying for anything with them. I looked up the website and it seemed real enough so I went ahead and did the assessment test. All my communication was through Telegram, never a single phone call.

Today they sent me a check for $1,840.00 to buy licensing equipment. It had a QR code so I scanned it to see if the check was real and it showed as legitimate but for a different check number. I didn't deposit it. When I messaged Jessica about it our whole conversation disappeared from Telegram.

I tried finding a real phone number for the company but the ones you find are fake. I sent an email too but the whole thing is fake. They have my name, address, phone number, email, and my resume. At least they don't have my social security number.
