Paid a fake utility bill email and lost over $300

I got an email saying my payment was late. I thought I had my account set up for automatic payments, so I clicked the link they sent. It said I owed $335.12, so I paid it.

Then a few days later, the real Centerpoint Energy took the money out of my checking account. I called my bank to report it was a scam, but they said they couldn't help because I was the one who authorized the payment.

I tried calling the scammer's number, (612) 372-4727, but it just goes to an automated message. You can't get through to a person. The email came from [email protected] and their address was a PO Box in Minneapolis. I just lost the money.
