Got a text saying I won part of a $20 million Powerball prize

I got this text saying a guy named Richard Lavery from Quincy won the Powerball. It said he's giving away a million dollars to random people and my number was selected. The text told me to text a "managing director agent" named Charles Woodley at +1 (601) 283-0140. I was supposed to use a claimant code GL45$.

It just felt off. I never signed up for anything like this. It's a random text about winning money from a lottery ticket I didn't buy. I didn't contact the number or anything, but I wanted to report getting this message. It didn't make any sense to me.

Got a text saying I won money from a Powerball winner

I got this text message today. It says it's from a man named Richard Lavery in Quincy who won the Powerball. He says he's donating a million dollars and my number was randomly selected. The text tells me to text a "managing director agent" named Charles Woodley at +1 (601) 283-0140. I'm supposed to use a claimant code GL45$.

It says the winner bought his ticket at a store in Quincy, but I never signed up for anything like this. It just came out of the blue. The whole thing feels off. I don't know these people and I didn't enter any giveaway. Now I'm getting a text to contact some agent I've never heard of. It doesn't make any sense to me.
