Phone call saying they were Chase about a credit card application

Got a call from someone saying they were Chase fraud prevention. They said they needed to verify a credit card application I never made. The number they told me to call back was 1-888-204-8630.

They said they're open Monday to Sunday 8AM to 8PM Eastern time. They gave me a reference number 260528584851. I didn't lose any money but it felt strange because I didn't apply for anything. No company name on the caller ID that made sense. Just a weird call.
