Booked flights in January and now they say overbooked right before trip

Back in January I booked flights online for a June trip. The price was really good, like too good to be true. They wouldnt take my Capital One card for payment, probably because Cap One is good at catching scams, so I had to use my Citi card instead.

After I booked they told me the flights would be ticketed right before I leave. I was worried the whole time it was a scam. I called them a bunch of times over the months and they kept saying everything is fine. Now right before Im supposed to leave they say the flights are overbooked. Every time I ask to talk to someone higher up they just put me on hold.

Im out $409.52 and I cant even go on my trip. I should have looked online first because theres a lot of complaints about this company.
