Job interview process turned out to be fake I9 form scam

I applied for a job I saw posted on Indeed. The whole interview process seemed real at first, they copied how real companies do it. But then I started noticing the emails were coming from a fake address - [email protected]. Something felt off during the chat interviews too.

After I filled out the I9 form with all my info, they sent me an email today with instructions to deposit a check through my mobile app. They wanted me to print it, sign the back, and send them a confirmation picture. That's when I knew for sure it was a scam.

No money lost on my end but they got all my personal information from that fake I9 form. The whole thing is set up to look like a real hiring process but it's just to steal your info.
