Sent $1,500 for refinancing and now nobody answers the phone
I have done refinancing before and the whole thing seemed legit. So I overnighted the signed contract and a $1,500 check for processing and appraisal fees to that address in Sherman Oaks on 5/13. On 5/15 someone named ****** ***** confirmed they got it and said they already talked to my lender and everything was fine. They said they would schedule the appraisal so I could close.
I kept calling after that and nobody answered. On 6/1 I called from a different number and he picked up but hung up right away when he heard my voice. I haven't heard from them since. I already reported this to local police and the feds.
