Charged me for a subscription I already cancelled

I got charged by Cleo for a subscription I already cancelled. I don't even use it. So I asked for a refund. They told me since I cancelled the subscription, it's not eligible for a refund. That was $5.99. It doesn't make any sense to charge me for something I cancelled and don't use.
