Got a fake job interview email pretending to be from a real company

I got this email that looked totally real, inviting me to interview for a remote proofreading job. The sender address seemed connected to Coast Healthcare Management, which is a real company that does the kind of stuff mentioned. So I wrote back.

Then they wanted me to do a text-based interview on Teams...with no actual conversation. It was very weird. My spidey senses started tingling. I Googled it and found out this is a known scam. They give you the job offer right after the fake interview, and then they try to get your personal info, like your bank details, by asking for a blank check and a W4 form as part of hiring. No thank you.

But the messed up part is they're using the name of a real company in California.
