Paid for a certificate of state after starting my LLC

I applied to start an LLC and got approved. Then I got a notification saying I had one more step to finish, which was buying my Certificate of State for $87.25. So I paid with an e-check.

Now I’m pretty sure it was a scam. They took my money and I never got any certificate. The website is complytoday.online/md and they have an address on Bay Ridge Ave in Annapolis. The phone number they used was (888) 704-6416.

I just feel stupid for falling for it. It seemed like part of the process.

Letter asking for money to open a business bank account with no company name

I got this letter in the mail and it said I needed to pay $87.25 to get documents for opening a business bank account. I just started a new business and already have all the paperwork from the state so I knew something was off.

The same day I got another scam letter from the same zip code in Annapolis, MD. The letter had a website complytoday.online/md and a phone number (888) 704-6416 but no real company name on it. Just felt strange asking for money for stuff I already have.
