Phone call about a medical debt my mother never owed

My 80 year old mother got a call from someone saying he was with Consumer Debt. He said she had an outstanding medical bill for a blood panel from last year for over $800.00. When she asked what doctor or medical facility it was from, he wouldn't tell her. He just said she already got 4 or 5 bills that went unpaid.

She kept pressing him for a contact name and a number to call back. He told her to look at her caller ID. She asked for an itemized bill as proof of this debt but there was just silence on the line. Then he demanded she pay the whole thing over the phone. She told him again she didn't owe anyone for any medical bills and asked for his number so she could call him back. He just hung up.
