Text about handcrafted items that turned out cheap junk

I got a text on my personal phone from craft folk. The stuff they sent is not hand crafted at all, nothing like the pictures. The quality is so bad I can't even use it for what I bought it for.

I asked right away about returning it. Took them 10 days just to answer me. And then they say I can get 35% back if I ship the item to Hong Kong on my own dime. And even then the refund isn't guaranteed. I lost $100 on this. Their email is [email protected] if anyone wants to know.

Ordered a tote bag and got something completely different

STAY AWAY from Craft Folk. I ordered the Martha’s Sheep Tote Bag from their website, craft-folk dot com. The website lies about everything. The item I got is not what they described at all. The quality is terrible and even the shape of the bag is wrong. They claim it’s made in the USA but the return address they gave is in China. I’m really disappointed and angry. This business doesn’t deserve even one star.

Ordered something from craft folk and got a cheap knockoff

I ordered something from craft folk and what I got was cheap and not what they showed on their website. The website is craft folk and their email is [email protected]. I lost $59.00 on this. It was an online purchase and I’m in the United States. The item was just not what I thought I was buying at all.

Ordered from Craft Folk and got nothing real back

I ordered from Craft Folk online because the story about the 72 year old artisan Maggie Whitfield closing her workshop really got to me. It said she was shutting down because of arthritis and I thought I was getting something handmade and special. Paid about 70 dollars.

The whole thing felt off after I placed the order. No tracking number that worked. No reply when I emailed [email protected]. I tried calling the number on the site 1(724) 865-6422 and nobody picked up.

Looked into it more and there is no real workshop in Sausalito California. The story about Maggie is just a script they use to make people buy. It is a counterfeit product scam. They don't have a physical store anywhere. Just took my money.

My money was refunded!

Like the others, I ordered a handcrafted tote bag made in the US. What came was a cheap, mass produced bag from Hong Kong! They replied that they would cheerfully refund my money IF I returned the bag to a Hong Kong address within 14 days! I filed a dispute with my credit card issuer. Within hours, my money was refunded. I hope someone shuts down this scam website before others are taken advantage of. If you paid by credit card, file a dispute. Don’t give up until we have driven this fraud out of business.

Paid for an American handmade item but it came from China

I bought something from Craft Folk because they said it was made by an American artisan. That's what I thought I was paying for. Turns out it's just mass produced stuff from China. I didn't check first, that's on me I guess. But the phone number they have just says it does not accept calls. So I can't even talk to anyone.

I spent $69 on a debit card and another $39.99 on a credit card for this. I'm trying to stop the debit payment through my bank right now. The credit card I have to wait until the transactions go through first. Just waiting around.

Ordered handmade items from ad but got cheap stuff from Hong Kong

I saw an article online about a woman making these things from home in the US, so I ordered. The package came and the items are NOT handmade at all. They were made in Hong Kong. I looked on Reddit and a bunch of other people got scammed the same way. Their website is www.craftfolk.com and they have an email [email protected]. I lost $137.57.

Ordered a handcrafted item but got cheap Chinese junk instead

I ordered something from Craft Folk because they said it was hand made by artisans. The site makes it sound like you're buying from real craftspeople, like a tinsmith in Vermont or something.

What I got was clearly cheap stuff from China. It looks cute I guess but there's no way it's handmade or gonna last years like they claim. And good luck trying to contact them or return anything—there's no way to get ahold of anyone. It's just false advertising.

Ordered a custom tote bag but got a cheap printed copy instead

I ordered a custom made Martha's Sheep Tote from Craft Folk for $59.00. It was supposed to be quilted, appliqued, with a maker's tag and the maker's initials. None of that was on what I got.

Instead they sent me a printed copy of the original on cheap material. Honestly looks like something you could order for $10.00 at most. I tried emailing [email protected] but no reply. Their website is craft-folk.com and the phone number they gave is (724) 865-6422.

Just feels like a total waste of money. I paid for something handmade and got a low quality print.
