Ordered a handwoven rug from Craft-Folk got a rubber mat instead

I ordered from Craft-folk.com because they had this story about a senior citizen retiring and selling her last few handmade wool rugs. Only 5 left, they said. Sounded nice.

What showed up was a cheap printed rubber mat. No receipt, no return label. I emailed them asking for a label and they said I had to ship it back to China on my own dime. That’s when I knew.

I called my bank and reversed the charge and got a new card. It’s not even the $49 that bothers me that much. It’s that they have my address and everything now.

Bee hotel looked nothing like the pictures on their site

I ordered from Craft-folk.com because they make it sound like everything is handcrafted and unique, with a story behind each item. The bee hotel I got was totally different from what they showed online. It was made from cheap balsa wood, not the nice quality artisan thing I thought I was buying. Honestly it looked mass-produced and just poorly made.

When I emailed them to complain, the person who wrote back basically laughed at me. Like they thought my complaint was a joke. I was really disappointed by that.

So I disputed the charge with my credit card company. Then during the dispute, Craft-folk told the credit card company I never even contacted them. But I did. I have the email where they replied to me. So they lied about that.

Ordered a bee hotel from an article and got something different

I read an article on craft-folk.com and it convinced me to get a Clayton Dawson bee hotel. I thought I was helping preserve a craftsman skill and giving mason bees a safe place to stay.

What showed up was not what they advertised. It was a close item but not the same. Too bad I guess.

Ad that looked like a news article led me to a fake craft site

I bought something on a whim which I never do. Saw an ad that looked like an article on Google news. The website seemed legit with lots of items from crafters.

What showed up was a cheap poorly made item. Not what I ordered at all. I tried emailing [email protected] but no reply. Lost $59.00 on this.

Website said handmade bag from Sausalito but it was a scam

I ordered 3 of those handmade hippie bags from their website craft-folk.com. The site makes it look like you’re buying a limited bag from Sausalito, California USA. But it’s just a scam!!!! I lost about 180 dollars total.

I reported this company to my Credit Card Company already. My charges are being disputed now. The phone number they had was (724) 865-6422 and the email was [email protected]. Just felt wrong after I placed the order. No reply when I tried to ask about shipping.

Ordered a mason bee house from an elder man and got nothing

I ordered a mason bee house from this website craft-folk.com. It said it was made by an elder man who was retiring so I thought it was a nice thing to support. I paid $70 for it.

Never got anything in the mail. No tracking number no reply when I emailed [email protected]. I tried calling the number on the site too 724-865-6422 and nobody picks up. Just feels like I got taken for the money.

Paid for an order that never came from craft-folk.com

I placed an order from this site, craft-folk.com. Nothing ever arrived. So I checked my credit card and the charges were there, $134.40. I did some research and found out the site is fake and a total scam. Their phone number is 1(724) 865-6422. I just want people to know.

Ordered a bicycle from a Vermont craftsman but had to return it to Hong Kong

I ordered something from their website craft-folk.com. It said the product was made by a retired craftsman from Vermont. When I got it, nothing matched what they said.

The wheel diameter was supposed to be 16 inches but it was only 4.75 inches. The video showed a frog leg pedalling the bicycle but the leg was just one piece of stationary metal. Total weight was supposed to be about 4 lbs but it was 1.2 lbs including packaging. Total height was listed as 56 inches but it was 41 inches.

When I tried to start a return, I found out I had to send it back to Hong Kong. No company name on the box or anything. Felt strange.

Ordered from craft-folk.com and got nothing real

I ordered something from craft-folk.com and paid $64.90. The website looked fine at first but when the package showed up it was not what I ordered. It was some cheap fake stuff not even close to the pictures.

I tried emailing them at [email protected] but nobody ever wrote back. The website is still up though which is weird. I saw someone else on ScamPulse.com had the exact same problem so I know it's not just me.

Just wanted to put this out there so people know.

Ordered a quilted bag from craft-folk.com and got a cheap knock off instead

I saw this site craft-folk.com and it said they were selling original quilted bags hand made by Martha Hensley. So I ordered one. Cost me $213.20.

What showed up was not even close. The material feels like fake fur or felt lamb ears, not quilted at all. Like a 3D printed mass produced thing with no texture. One bag the stitching was already unraveling. No tag from Martha or anything.

I emailed them at [email protected] and they had no problem telling me to return it to Hong Kong. But the charge on my credit card says London. So that didn't make sense. I just want my money back.

Ad for craft website with fake AI images and reviews

I saw an ad that took me to this craft website, craft-folk.com. It looked legit because it was connected to Shop, so I figured it was fine. But everything on there—the product images, the stories, the reviews—it’s all AI generated. None of it is real.

I caught it before they could take my money. I called my credit card company and disputed the charge right away. They stopped it. But it’s just weird how real they tried to make it look.

Ordered a handmade Vermont product but got cheap Chinese junk

I ordered something from craft-folk.com because they said it was handmade in Vermont by Richard Holcomb. It was supposed to be a nice quality item.

What showed up was maybe a third of the size they showed on their Google website. It was clearly mass produced in China, really cheaply made. I paid $80 for this. I feel like I got totally misled.

I tried emailing [email protected] but no reply. The phone number they had was 724-865-6422 but I'm not sure it's even real. Just feels like a complete scam honestly.

Ordered hand painted flamingos and got cheap metal you have to bend yourself

I ordered those whirligig flamingos from their website craft-folk.com. It looked like a real US business and they said everything was handmade and hand painted so I figured theyd be nice.

What showed up was just thin stamped metal pieces that I have to bend myself to even make them move like in the video. Doesnt even look like the same thing they show online. Cost over thirty bucks each and they are complete junk. I took pictures of what they advertise next to what you actually get.

Ordered a handmade US tote bag, got cheap Chinese knockoff

I found this website craft-folk.com that looked legit. They had all these bios of regional people making handcrafted products in the US. So I ordered the Martha's Sheep Tote Bag for $59.

When the package showed up it came from a Chinese shipper. The tote is not even close to what they showed online. Way lower quality and none of the embroidered accents that were advertised. I've tried contacting them but no response at all.

Bought a bag from a fake retirement story about Maggie

I bought the "Maggie's Hand-quilted Hippie Weekender Bag" for $59.00. I read this whole article about her retiring and how this was her last batch ever. That bag has been all over the internet for years so I thought it was a real deal.

Turns out all the photos of people on their site are AI. The names are super generic and the background stories about the sellers are fake too. Their return address is in China not California like they said about Maggie. I never even got a confirmation email. I already disputed it with my bank. Just wanted to put this out there so nobody else falls for it. This place needs to be shut down.

Ordered handmade cedar bee houses but got cheap bamboo instead

I ordered from Craft-folk.com because they said they were selling hand-made bee houses made of cedar. That sounded good and I paid $150 for them. What showed up was nothing like that. They were made of bamboo and just glued together. Not even close to what was advertised.

When I tried to get a refund they said no unless I shipped the items back to Hong Kong. That didn't make sense. I just wanted my money back for the false advertising. I'm out $150 now and stuck with these junk bee houses.

Website says retiring artisan from Vermont but stuff ships from China

I ordered from craft-folk.com. They say they are a retiring artisan from Vermont. But I think the products come from China. There was a long delay in shipping. Then I started reading reviews that say it's a scam.

The website says they use USPS but the tracking number is a GOFO number out of California. Their website mentions Hong Kong. American Express shows a London location with a Pennsylvania phone number. If you do get anything it is cheap knock offs. You have to pay to send it back to China to get a refund.

I sent an email to [email protected] asking them to cancel. I lost 130 dollars. American Express said they will dispute the charge once the two week window is up if the product has not shipped.

Ordered a hand quilted tote bag with 3D flowers and got something totally different

I went to buy a hippie Weekender hand quilted tote bag from a woman in Sausalito California. The one on the website has 3D flowers on it and a 3D bumper on both sides of the front of the van and also the back of the van. The one I got doesn't have any 3D stuff anywhere.

The inside is supposed to have floral cloth lining but it's plastic. It's also supposed to come with a duster bag to keep it nice and a letter of authenticity. None of that was in there. The bag is way smaller than what they said too. I spent $59.99 on this. Their phone number is (724) 865-6422 and email is [email protected]. I have pictures of what I got versus what was on the site.

Ordered a Snoopy wind twirler and got a flat piece of junk

I ordered a garden wind twirler with Snoopy flying in a WW1 plane from Craft-folk.com. The picture showed a fully bodied airplane and Snoopy. What I got was a tinny metal flat body poorly designed fake piece of China crap. 100% disappointed in this trickery and fake advertising.

It looks like something from the dollar store. Plus it doesn’t even spin in the wind. I paid $40.00 for this and it’s a total waste. Their phone number is (724) 865-6422 and email is [email protected].

Fake article about old man selling last batch of bee houses

I saw this article on Google News about a old man in the US who makes Mason bee houses by hand and was closing his workshop because of his age. It sounded real, they talked about how his design was better than the store bought ones. They said the last few hundred units were on sale for cheap.

So I went to the website craft-folk.com and they had all these other handmade crafts from rural US. Then I noticed every product was made by some elderly person going out of business and selling their last batch. That felt off. Checked their contact info and it's an address in Hong Kong. Looked up reviews and everyone says it's a scam site. I didn't buy anything but it's still frustrating.
