Ordered a tote from a retiring artisan but it came from China

I ordered a tote from Craftfolk.com. They listed Martha Hensley from the Blue Ridge Mountains in North Carolina as the artisan, said she was retiring and selling off her remaining stock. Sounded nice and I fell for it.

The tote I got is very very small, not well made at all. And it shipped from China. So obviously not from some lady in the mountains. I lost $60 on this. Shame on me for believing it.

Ad showed handmade bag but got cheap junk from Hong Kong

I saw an ad on Google Discover about an elderly lady selling the last of her handcrafted bags because of her health. The picture showed a hand quilted duffel bag. Looked really nice.

What I got was a cheaply made bag. Nothing like the picture. I tried to return it but the address they gave me had no zip code, just said HONG KONG at the bottom. So that was a dead end.

I filed a dispute with my credit card company. Lost $59. I wish I had checked Trustpilot first. SCAM.
