Emails about a 10-year-old debt threatening to sue me

They contacted me numerous times saying they would take me to court and sue me for $7000 if I didn’t send them $1500. This debt was in collection 10 years ago. I don’t even know if it’s real at this point.

I ended up sending them the $1500 because I was scared. They kept emailing from [email protected] and now I feel stupid about it. No company name on anything just that email. I lost 1500 dollars to this.
