Got a call saying I won money from Publisher's Clearinghouse

A man called me saying he was from Dave Sayers' office at Publisher's Clearinghouse. He told me I won $7,500 every month for six months. I know I never entered any contest like that. When I said that, he couldn't tell me how I supposedly won.

He asked if I had a Dollar General or Walgreens near me. I said yes. Then he said I had to go to one of those stores to activate a card to get the money. That didn't make any sense to me, so I told him no and hung up.

I called the number back, (917) 329-9493, and asked who he was. He said the same thing, from Dave Sayer's office. I asked him to tell me my name. He wouldn't say it, just kept calling me a "random winner." He said I had to activate the card to "unlock my file." I just hung up again. He had an accent I couldn't place. The whole thing felt off.
